WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF NEUROENDOSCOPY?


Technology has become so advanced now that each and every complex disease can be treated now. Earlier people with cancer or any deadly disease couldn’t survive long enough. Now with the help of advancement in technology, life expectancy has increased.
Neuroendoscopy is one such procedure in which surgeons remove tumors through small holes in the skull or through the nose or mouth. There are a lot of options for neuroendoscopy treatment in India.

The neuroendoscopy is performed using an endoscope, which is basically a telescope with an eye-piece attached. It helps the neurosurgeon to navigate and locate the tumor. Often, the doctors attach an additional endoscope with forceps and scissors on the end.

You will have a regular medical check up by the doctor that involvesall the tests like blood tests, electrocardiogram, and chest X-ray and CT scan. Arrive early as you need to do hospital related paperwork and make sure you are 2 hours early. The nurse will explain all the procedure of the surgery and will ask for your date of birth, name and the surgery. You will also see an anaesthesiologist as he/she will explain the side effects of anesthesia and its risks.
After the surgery you will be kept in the recovery room where all your vital signs will be monitored. You will also have certain medications after the surgery which will reduce the post surgery pain.
